St Canice’s Cathedral and Round Tower… Step into serenity… Step up through 900 years.
A visitor to Kilkenny city should start their visit at the site where the origins of the city began. Explore the cathedral and witness the raw materials used by the stonemasons in the 12th Century. Sense a site that has been used for worship since 600 a.d. Hear and see the bell ringers of the Cathedral as your look through the key hole of the bell tower door. Climb the round tower for a unique experience that can only be found in the Irish landscape.

Engage with the Cathedral staff and then continue to explore the great medieval city and county. The cathedral visit is self-guided with information on the main points of interest. The Round Tower is a fantastic climb providing one with great panoramic views of the medieval city.
