Dublin Cemeteries Trust

The stories of a nation are held here within the walls of Glasnevin Cemetery. Established in 1832 as the final resting place for all people, this unique garden cemetery grew from humble origins to become Ireland’s largest and most storied cemetery.

Glasnevin Cemetery has been at the heart of some of the key moments and events in modern Irish history, with many iconic figures buried here, including Daniel O’Connell, Michael Collins, Luke Kelly, and Countess Markievicz to name just a few.

From poets and presidents, singers and suffragettes, the ordinary and the extraordinary – the stories of those who shaped our nation’s history are brought to life.
