GPO Museum

Award winning GPO Museum is located in the historical GPO (General Post Office) building.

The museum examines the events leading up to and during Easter Week 1916 through key documents, original artefacts and audio visual material. The witness perspective is at the heart of the museum where the personal stories of the rebels, crown forces, the GPO workers and the by standers are told. The aftermath and the consequences of the Easter Rising; both in terms of the national and international contexts are examined.

The relationships between the north and south of Ireland and between Ireland and Britain are explored from the 1920s up to 2016.
