Located in the heart of the Golden Vale, Fethard Horse Country Experience, offers visitors the opportunity to discover the rich culture, heritage and history of the region.
Part of Ireland’s Ancient East and the Munster Vales, this state-of-the-art interactive exhibition, in operation since May 2017, examines the relationship between the people, the land and the horse revealing how they are all inextricably linked. Spread out over two floors within C17th Tholsel building the interactive nature of FHC Experience makes it an enjoyable and informative exhibition for all ages. The entire building is wheelchair accessible. Since opening, FHC Experience has welcomed leisure groups, individual and business tourism. The location of FHC Experience makes it a wonderful focal point for an entire days visit to Fethard, Ireland's most important small medieval walled town - highlights include: C13th Holy Trinity Church of Ireland - One of the largest and finest medieval parish churches and home to the oldest timber roof in Ireland, C14th Augustinian Abbey - A beautiful Harry Clarke stained-glass window can also be seen from inside the church, C15th North Gate - the only surviving gate in the Town Wall and two Sheela na Gig's can be found within the town centre.
