Established in 1832 by Daniel O'Connell, Glasnevin is the final resting place of over 1.5 million people. Located just 2.5 km from Dublin’s city centre, Glasnevin covers 124 acres of glorious parkland with plenty to appreciate, perfect for those interested in exploring the legacies of Ireland’s heroes.

The natural beauty of the grounds merges with a who’s who of Irish history through which experienced, knowledgeable, and entertaining guides take visitors on a memorable journey through the impeccably preserved Victorian cemetery. Each guide is passionate about sharing their love of heritage and history, telling the stories of Ireland’s fascinating past. A range of guided tours is available including the General History (main graves of note), Dead Interesting (Telling the quirky stories of the lesser known personalities), and the soon to be launched Tower Tour (March 2018) incorporating 202 steps (168 ft) to some of the best views in Dublin. Visitor centre includes museum, shop, cafe, and genealogy service.
